Teaching Assistant required from April 2026. Temporary until 31 March 2027 in the first instance with a view to becoming a permanent position dependent on funding.

  • Salary Scale D - £19,242- £19,548 depending on experience- (FTE £25,583 to £25,989)
  • Apprenticeship Salary Scale B £18,650 (FTE £24,796)
  • 32.5 hours per week, Term time plus 1 week
  • Monday to Friday 8.30am-3.30pm with an unpaid lunch break of 30 minutes. 

All our teaching assistants are expected to be prepared to work with children from reception to year 6, some of whom are vulnerable and have a range of needs, lead small groups of children and support teachers within the class environment according to need, working under the direction of the class teacher and senior leaders. All our teaching assistants are expected to carry out a lunch duty. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized, efficient & hardworking individual who is committed to promoting the best possible outcomes for our children and who is eager to develop through engagement in training - we feel that everyone is a learner. Appropriate qualifications and/or previous experience in a primary setting would be of great advantage. 

The successful applicant should have:

  • The ability, patience and resilience to work with vulnerable children
  • The ability to support in all subjects, particularly English & Mathematics
  • Experience in leading small groups (under the direction of the class teacher)
  • The ability to build good professional relationships with children, staff , parents & governors
  • A friendly, approachable, calm manner
  • The ability to use their own initiative
  • A willingness to ‘go the extra mile’
