Teaching Assistant - SEND Support
St Wilfrid's Catholic Academy
St Wilfrid's Catholic Academy is seeking a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to work with pupils who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by providing tailored academic and pastoral support within a nurturing, faith-led school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualised support for pupils with SEND, ensuring access to learning and inclusion.
- Assist with implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and personalised strategies.
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
- Promote pupils’ emotional wellbeing and independence.
Hours
- 30 hours per week
- 6 hours per day
Start Date
- Monday 5th January 2026 (or as soon as possible)
Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a school setting.
- Ability to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
Desirable Qualities
- Knowledge of strategies for supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or other additional needs.
- Relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning (Level 3 or Level 4).
- Strong communication skills and patience.
