Teaching Assistant - Supporting Children with Complex Needs job summary
As a Teaching Assistant supporting children with complex needs, you will work closely with teachers and senior staff to provide targeted support for pupils with learning difficulties and/or behavioural, social, or physical disabilities. Your role will be crucial in:
- Supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including autism and social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
- Assisting with individual education and behaviour plans tailored to each child’s needs.
- Promoting inclusion, independence, and emotional well-being.
- Helping pupils access learning through small group or one-to-one support.
- Assisting with personal care, communication, and social development.
- Providing basic first aid and administering medication in line with Trust policies.
- Supporting classroom management and creating a positive learning environment.

- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Willing to engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills.
A Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience is essential, alongside experience working with children who have additional needs.
