Key ResponsibilitiesYour role will include:
Teaching Assistant
Support individuals and groups in class, including pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEND).
Deliver structured interventions and lead small group activities.
Assist in preparing teaching resources and maintaining engaging classroom displays.
Provide feedback on pupil progress to the class teacher.
Support children’s personal, social and emotional development.
Encourage positive behaviour and inclusion in line with school values
Help to create a supportive and stimulating environment for learning.
Maintain effective communication with staff, pupils, and parents.
Carry out administrative and record-keeping tasks related to learning support.
Promote equality and diversity and maintain high standards of safety and safeguarding.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Maths).
Experience working with children (in a school or similar setting).
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
Willingness to contribute positively to our vibrant school community.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
First Aid training
Experience supporting children with SEND or behavioural needs
Awareness of safeguarding and Health & Safety practices in schools
Qualifications & Experience
We would like to hear from you if you have:
GCSEs in English and Maths (essential) and/or qualifications to degree level (desirable).
Practical experience of working directly with young people in an educational or training environment.
An understanding of SEND, challenging behaviours, and strategies to support learning.
Awareness of health & safety and safeguarding responsibilities within a school setting.
