Key Responsibilities

Your role will include:
Teaching Assistant

  • Support individuals and groups in class, including pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEND).

  • Deliver structured interventions and lead small group activities.

  • Assist in preparing teaching resources and maintaining engaging classroom displays.

  • Provide feedback on pupil progress to the class teacher.

  • Support children’s personal, social and emotional development.

  • Encourage positive behaviour and inclusion in line with school values

  • Help to create a supportive and stimulating environment for learning.

  • Maintain effective communication with staff, pupils, and parents.

  • Carry out administrative and record-keeping tasks related to learning support.

  • Promote equality and diversity and maintain high standards of safety and safeguarding.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Maths).

  • Experience working with children (in a school or similar setting).

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

  • Willingness to contribute positively to our vibrant school community.

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)

  • First Aid training

  • Experience supporting children with SEND or behavioural needs

  • Awareness of safeguarding and Health & Safety practices in schools

Qualifications & Experience

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • GCSEs in English and Maths (essential) and/or qualifications to degree level (desirable).

  • Practical experience of working directly with young people in an educational or training environment.

  • An understanding of SEND, challenging behaviours, and strategies to support learning.

  • Awareness of health & safety and safeguarding responsibilities within a school setting.
