Teaching Assistant - Temporary job summary

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND or additional needs
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers
  • Support pupils’ social and emotional development

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting (preferred)
  • Understanding of SEND and strategies to support learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
  • Relevant qualifications NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning
  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English are essential
