Teaching Assistant job summary
The Batt School, St Mary’s Infants, Witney and The Oxford Diocesan Schools’ Trust (ODST) are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and preventing extremism; all staff must ensure that the highest priority is given to following the guidance and regulations to safeguard children and young people. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and obtain any other statutorily required clearance. Employment will also be conditional on the receipt of at least two acceptable references (1 from current/latest employer) and evidence of the formal qualifications required for the role. Online searches will be undertaken at shortlisting stage.
The Batt School and St Mary’s Infants, Witney are seeking two excellent Teaching Assistants to join us from September 2024. The posts involve supporting children to access the curriculum and present an exciting opportunity for inspirational, friendly candidates who can motivate the children in their learning. The posts are suitable for both experienced Teaching Assistants or those who are enthusiastic and passionate about beginning their career in this area.
The schools work together under a supportive joint leadership team with vision and a passion for working with children within primary education. We value our support staff and seek to develop their expertise by offering a supportive working environment and access to relevant CPD.
The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering high quality support to groups of children and individuals. They will also work well as a team player, seeking to add to the wider educational offer and willing to be fully involved in the life of the school.
The role is offered for a fixed term for the academic year 2024/25 in the first instance but there may be an opportunity for the role to become permanent. Contracts are issued to reflect working across two schools.
The schools are part of the Oxford Diocesan Schools' Trust, a large multi-academy trust consisting of 43 schools across Oxfordshire and Berkshire.
