Teaching Assistant job summary
The Holgate Academy is seeking to employ a Teaching Assistant. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our supportive team. The successful candidate will be part of a committed and knowledgeable team supporting a wide range of needs within the Academy with a focus on support and intervention for student
The post would also suit a graduate (or equivalent) who may be interested in pursuing a career in teaching at a future date and would like to gain some experience. If you are an enthusiastic and dedicated team player with experience of working with children and would like to be part of our friendly and committed school family please apply. We would welcome applications from a teaching assistant or a qualified teacher with experience looking to move roles or return to teaching.
Our ideal candidate has:
- A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent work experience
- Relevant and recent experience of working with young people
- A thorough and practical understanding of issues related to improving students’ progress and ensuring equality of opportunity both in and out of the classroom
- Commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people

We are a large secondary academy for students aged 11-16 years based in Hucknall and, together with our partner academies, offer post 16 study at the Hucknall Sixth Form Centre.
We support our young people, so they enjoy their time at the academy and play a key part in all that academy life has to offer.
