What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful candidate will:

  • Have the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of students by equipping them for future success

  • Be invested in enabling student progress, whilst also developing the students holistically

Essential

  • GCSE English and maths at C/4 (or above) Grade (or equivalent).
  • Relevant and recent experience of working with young people.
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students and providing equality of opportunity.

Desirable

  • NVQ level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience together with a working knowledge of national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies.
  • A thorough and practical understanding of issues related to improving students’ progress and ensuring equality of opportunity both in and out of the classroom.
  • Experience of supporting young people with improving literacy and numeracy skills as well as development social skills.
