Teaching Assistant job summary

We are looking for someone to join our team as a Teaching Assistant. We want someone who will bring enthusiasm and a commitment to children's learning to our school. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children. It would be desirable if this included working with and supporting children with additional needs.

The contract is on a fixed-term basis, 30 hours 45 minutes per week, term-time only, 39 working weeks per annum (including training days) until 31st August 2026. We would consider a Level 2 or Level 3 candidate, dependent upon qualifications and experience.

The right candidate will need to be adaptable, enthusiastic, highly motivated and have the ability to work effectively as part of a team. They must demonstrate full commitment to the school, its ethos and the aim to raise standards.   They must be committed to undergo relevant training for the role such as first aid or other medical training.

You will assist the class teacher in the delivery of High Quality First Teaching, as well as supporting children one-to-one/small groups in the classroom. The role will also include a half hour lunch supervision.

The ideal candidate will have:    

The ability to build good relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues

Good organisational and time-management skills

Patience, a positive outlook and a great sense of humour

Excellent communication skills, including high levels of spoken and written Standard English

GCSEs in Maths and English and high standards of literacy (desirable not essential)
