Teaching Assistant job summary
The Turing School has an opportunity to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work with class teachers to support teaching and learning. The successful candidate will help to providing general assistance to pupils under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the classroom teacher.
Key duties include:
- Working with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the supervision of teaching staff;
- Supporting pupils in their learning and with their emotional well-being;
- Supporting the teacher in behaviour management and keeping pupils on task;
- Prepare and clear up learning environments and resources.
The Successful candidate will need to have:
- English, Maths and Science G.C.S.E grade C or above, or significant relevant experience;
- Evidence of working with children in a similar environment;
- Proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
- A willingness to learn.
