Teaching Assistant job summary
.We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team from the start of the coming academic year.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children to learn, develop and achieve their potential. The successful applicant will provide general classroom support, alongside working closely with pupils who have special educational needs and may require additional support to access learning.
You will work closely with teachers and other members of our team to provide a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment for all our pupils.
Working hours:
20 hours per week, Monday to Friday
8:30am - 12:30pm
Salary:
Grade 3, Point 6-9
FTE salary: £24,796 - £25,989
Actual salary: £13,061 - £13,637
The role will involve supporting pupils across the school and working alongside teachers to help ensure all children are able to engage positively with their learning. This will include:
- Providing general classroom support and working with groups of pupils
- Supporting individual pupils, including children with special educational needs
- Helping children to access learning and participate fully in school life
- Working with teachers to deliver appropriate activities and interventions
- Helping pupils to develop their confidence, independence and social skills
- Supporting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Adapting activities and approaches to meet individual needs
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Working as part of a supportive team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children
We are looking for someone who:
- Is caring, patient and genuinely enjoys working with children
- Can build positive relationships with pupils
- Has a calm, positive and encouraging approach
- Is enthusiastic about supporting children with additional needs
- Can work effectively as part of a team
- Is reliable, flexible and willing to learn
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Experience of working in a school with children with SEND would be desirable, although we are also keen to hear from applicants who have the right qualities, attitude and enthusiasm to develop their skills in this area.
