What skills and experience we're looking for
A qualified, caring, committed Teaching Assistant is required to work with a 1:1 pupil with medical needs.
The ideal candidate will:
- Enjoy working with children and want to make a difference.
- Be keen to learn and welcome continued professional development.
- Be organised and able to adapt planning, through daily assessment, to meet individual needs.
- Have relevant school-based experience, particularly working with children with medical needs.
The person appointed will:
- Undertake relevant training to enable care of the child.
- Work under the direction of the Nursery room lead and Academy SENCO.
- Support the child on a personalised care plan within a nursery setting.
- Support the child with their specific medical needs.
- Adapt planning and create resources to meet the child’s individual needs.
- Communicate positively and regularly with parents.
- Attend meetings with parents and professionals, where relevant, and support the child in accessing learning opportunities.
- Deliver intervention support for individuals or small groups of children.
The following will be an advantage:
- Working knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum.
- Understanding of child development.
- Experience of working with children with medical needs.
- A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.
