Hours: 33.75 hours, 39 weeks (term time plus one week)
Working pattern: Monday – Friday, 8.15am – 3.30pm
Salary: Pathway 3, £20,846 - £22,231, (FTE £26,409 - £28,163) per annum

Your role:
As a Teaching Assistant within the Walford Centre at Thomas Deacon Academy, you will play a crucial role in supporting students overcome barriers to learning. Your excellent interpersonal and organisational skills will help you assess and address the unique requirements of each student, ensuring they can fully engage with their learning. You will work closely with subject teachers, clarify instructions, and adapt resources to meet individual needs. Your commitment to promoting literacy, numeracy, and safeguarding the welfare of all students will be essential. You will have GCSEs in Maths and English, effective communication skills, flexibility, reliability, punctuality, high levels of concentration, and attention to detail. Experience in a school or exams setting is desirable.

The Walford Centre at Thomas Deacon Academy is part of the school's Appropriate Provision which is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all students. This is a small provision that is part of the main TDA Academy which focuses upon bespoke support to ensure students are ready to access the main Academy and realign their past poor behaviour choices. It focuses on offering specialised support and resources to allow students to overcome barriers to learning ensuring they have the necessary tools and assistance to thrive academically and personally.
