Your Role in Building Brighter Futures As a Teaching Assistant in Year 5 at Westover Green Community School and Autism Centre, you will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of Futura’s mission statement of “Building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish”. Purpose of the role of a Teaching Assistant (see the JD for accountabilities):
Under the supervision of the class teacher and/or SENCO, to undertake a range of directed activities to support the educational and development needs of pupils. This will involve in assisting teachers with the organizational and maintenance of classroom resources and to contribute to the supervision and welfare of pupils throughout the school.
What You’ll Bring to Futura: We are looking for a motivated and inspirational teaching assistant who will:
- Have a good standard of education (5 x GCSE’s – English and Maths C or above) and a relevant, recognized qualification such as NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent
- Have an understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these
- Have an understanding of principles of child development and learning processes and in particular, barriers to learning
- Be able to plan and implement effective actions for pupils at risk of underachieving,
- Be a natural communicator with the ability to relate to both pupils and adults.
- Demonstrate a passion for creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all members of our school community.
- Aligns with our trust-wide values by bringing a positive, collaborative approach to their work and a willingness to continuously develop professionally.
