What skills and experience we're looking for

We require a Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding team at the Thomas Hardye School to work with students aged 13-18 with additional learning needs. We are an inclusive school and currently have two resourced provisions, one for supporting young people with complex communication needs (autism) and the other for supporting young people with physical difficulties. The team are constantly working creatively and supportively to enable these young people to fulfil their potential. Our TAs do an amazing job, and are key to the success of our school.

The right applicant will be:

  • Enthusiastic, confident and able to build strong relationships with staff and students
  • Calm in challenging situations
  • Adaptable, flexible, proactive and relentlessly optimistic
  • Willing to join a close-knit team and good at building relationships with young people and other adults
  • Able to assist students with problem solving in and out of the classroom
  • Able to model good social skills to our young people and be committed to the needs of all young people
  • Qualified to at least level 2 (great C or above at GCSE) in English and Maths
