Thank you for taking an interest in our current vacancy for the Teaching Assistant post at Westgate Primary School. We are looking for a full time Teaching Assistant (25 hours per week). There will also be additional welfare hours available for 5 hours per week. This post will be temporary for 12 months in the first instance.
This post will include general class based Teaching Assistant responsibilities as well as supporting children with Special Educational Needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties as part of a class team approach. The year group for the general Teaching Assistant post has yet to be determined and will reflect the range of applications we receive.
The successful
applicant will:
- Care passionately for all our children, no matter what their barriers are or challenges they bring into school.
- Build professional relationships with children, staff, parents and outside agencies.
- Have knowledge of child development and safeguarding.
- Work with existing staff to support pupils and raise achievement.

We are looking for an individual with personal attributes who will be able to support our children. Previous experience in a school or alternative educational setting would be desirable, but is not essential.
