What skills and experience we're looking for

Addington Valley Academy are seeking to recruit Teaching Assistants with the drive and creativity to work under the guidance of teaching staff to support learners to make exceptional progress in all aspects of school life. You will assist in meeting the learners’ need for encouragement, reassurance and comfort and attend to their personal requirements and physical care while encouraging independence at all times. You will supervise and provide particular support for pupils (which maybe on a 1:1 basis), ensuring their safety and access to learning activities and create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work. The role provides routine opportunities for professional development that can lead to career progression and qualified teacher status.
