Teaching Assistants job summary

We have two Teaching Assistant positions available,
Teaching Assistant position 1: 28.5 hours per week. 08:45 – 15:15 daily with one additional hour for planning on Thursday (MDSA for 2.5 hours per week too.) Fixed-Term position.
Teaching Assistant position 2: 37.5 hours per week. 08:30 – 16:30 daily, Permanent position.
A brief outline of the responsibilities of the role,
Duties and responsibilities,
- Support individuals and groups to help them learn
- Establish an effective and purposeful learning environment in partnership with teachers and other colleagues
- Support teachers in assessing the needs of individual children
Qualifications
- Competent to NVQ Level 2 standard in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent (or willing to achieve this)
Knowledge and understanding
- An understanding of special learning needs such as SEND, ASD, ADHD, Global Delay, Attachment, Physical and Speech & Language needs
- Good knowledge of how to support learning, with practical ideas on how to achieve this
- Recognise that each child has specific needs that need to be nurtured and developed through careful and sensitive support and intervention

This role will involve contact with children and the post holder will be engaged in regulated activity relevant to children and will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check before appointment is confirmed. We will only submit a DBS application to the relevant disclosure service when a position is accepted.
