Set in one of the UK’s most beautiful coastal towns, the school offers an inspiring environment that sparks creativity and innovation, allowing staff to draw on the stunning beaches, coastline, and local community to enrich learning and engage students in meaningful, real-world experiences.
We have recently invested significantly in transforming our learning and working environments, creating modern, high-quality spaces that energise teaching, support collaboration and make Treviglas an exciting place to work and learn. The planned refurbishment of our science classrooms marks the next exciting phase of this development, offering a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to shape and influence the future of science teaching within an enhanced environment.
This is an exciting time to join our science department. You will lead a dedicated and collaborative team, driving high-quality teaching and learning across the subject. There is significant opportunity to shape and implement a developing curriculum, as well as further enhance our science student entitlement programme, which supports students in exploring their interest in science and future career pathways. Our work is underpinned by the science curriculum from Ark Academy, which supports a consistent approach to high-quality teaching, curriculum design and professional development. This provides the science team with a clear framework, strong collaboration and access to ongoing development.
We are looking for a dynamic and inspiring leader who can set high expectations and foster a strong team ethos. You will have excellent subject knowledge and a clear commitment to ensuring all students achieve highly. The role includes leading the strategic development of the department, using careful evaluation of curriculum intent, implementation and impact to secure strong outcomes for all learners.
Previous experience of leading a department is not essential. We are committed to developing future leaders and will provide high-quality professional development and support, making this an excellent opportunity for a talented teacher ready to take the next step into subject leadership.
