Job Title: Technician (Art & DT)
Actual Annual Salary: £26,124 - £28,473 Based on term time only weeks + Inset days
Full Time Equivalent Salary: Grade B - £26,798 - £29,208 Based on Full Time hours, all year round.
Contract Type: Permanent, Part Time, Term Time only plus Inset Days
Hours: Part Time, 32.5 hours per week (working pattern to be discussed at interview)
Provisional Start Date: 9 November 2026
We are seeking a proactive and hands‑on individual to join us as an Art & DT Technician.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in maintaining high quality resources, and thrives in a setting where no two days are the same.
Working closely with the Curriculum Lead and teaching staff, you will play a vital part in preparing materials, maintaining specialist equipment, and ensuring workshops and classrooms are safe, engaging spaces for students.
From supporting practical lessons to managing resources, troubleshooting equipment, and contributing to a positive health and safety culture, you will be central to the smooth running of the department.

About You:
You will have
- Good literacy and numeracy competency (including GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above), or equivalent qualifications.
- Educated to a minimum of A Level standard in art and/or design technology and/or equivalent experience in art and/or design technology
- Practical experience of understanding and following processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of safe working practices in relation to the handling and usage of hazardous equipment and tools which may include knowledge of COSHH regulations and/or CLEAPPS guidance.
- An understanding of the use and demonstration of relevant equipment, such as kiln, woodwork equipment, metal work equipment, etc.
- Good standard of written and verbal communication skills.
- Good Problem-solving skills.
