Great Yarmouth Charter Academy is looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and reliable Technician (Art) with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our department. If you are enthusiastic about art and enjoy inspiring others, this is a wonderful opportunity to use your skills and develop your experience within a friendly team.


As well as providing general support to the faculty, you will assist in lessons and must therefore be able to relate well to both staff and students. You will be well-organised and a team player with the ability to work independently.

The main responsibility of this role will be:

  • To provide technical support to teaching staff and to undertakes activities in all areas of the faculty
  • Under the overall direction and control of the Curriculum Lead and in accordance with the procedure of the school work with teaching staff to support the teaching and learning in the department by ensuring the effective preparation, maintenance and storage of tools, materials, equipment, furniture and undertake learning activities with students and teachers.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum GCSE English and Maths (grade C or above) or equivalent
  • Experience and understanding of working with students of Secondary age
  • Understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and own position within these
  • Good ICT and literacy skills
