Are you someone who loves making things work? Do you enjoy a varied day where your practical skills directly impact young people’s learning?

At Wardle Academy, we are looking for a dedicated and organised Technician to join our vibrant Technology team. Whether you are an experienced school technician, a graduate looking for school experience, or someone with strong practical skills looking for a meaningful career change, we would love to hear from you.

The Role: What You’ll Do

As our department Technician, you will be the backbone of our practical lessons. You will work closely with teachers to ensure students can learn safely and effectively.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Safety first: Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised environment, ensuring health and safety regulations (like COSHH, if applicable) are strictly followed.

  • Stock control: Managing inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring resources are well-maintained and cost-effective.

  • Support: Assisting teachers during busy practical sessions and helping students use equipment safely when required.

About You: What You’ll Bring

You don’t necessarily need to have worked in a school before, but you do need to be organised, proactive, and a great team player.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills (practical lessons happen on a tight schedule!).

  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality technical support and troubleshooting solutions

  • A patient, approachable manner and the ability to communicate well with both staff and teenage students.

  • A commitment to maintaining excellent health and safety standards.
