Technology Technician (3D Design) job summary
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Technology Technician to work up to 25 hours per week in the subject area of Design and Technology at Hampton Gardens School.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the delivery of Design and Technology education, particularly within 3D Design at Hampton Gardens, by preparing materials and equipment for practical lessons, maintaining workshop areas and machinery, and assisting teaching staff in ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.
This is a varied and hands-on role which would suit someone with practical workshop experience, strong DIY skills, or an interest in working with tools, materials and machinery. Full training will be provided.
We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic and reliable individual who can work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety and supporting students' learning experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing materials, tools and equipment for practical lessons
- Maintaining stock levels and ordering materials as required
- Assisting with the maintenance and servicing of workshop machinery and equipment
- Supporting teaching staff during practical activities
- Ensuring specialist teaching areas are clean, safe and well organised
- Promoting safe working practices within the department
This is a permanent, term-time only position for up to 25 hours per week. Working hours and days will be discussed at interview and must support curriculum and timetable requirements.

Hampton Gardens is an 11-19 free school which opened in September 2017 to an initial intake of 180 Year 7 students. When full, the school will accommodate 1200 students in years 7-11 and 300 students in Sixth Form.
Hampton Gardens is part of the Hampton Academies Trust who also run the highly successful and popular Hampton College all-through school, Hampton Lakes Primary School and Dogsthorpe Infant School. HAT schools have very close links and some shared staff.
