What skills and experience we're looking for

The governors are looking to appoint a temporary, part-time Grade 4 Teaching Assistant to work on Monday to Friday morning from 8.45am -12 noon, term time only.

The successful candidate will work as part of our Teaching Assistant team across the school, working to support individual pupils, small groups and on occasions to take full classes for PPA cover, management time or short-term illness cover.

We are hoping to meet someone who will get fully involved in all aspects of school life and for you to have:

  • experience in either EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
  • experience of working 1-1, in groups and in whole class situations
  • experience of teaching phonics
  • experience of managing behaviour in a calm, positive and consistent manner
  • a qualification such as NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in schools (or equivalent relevant qualification)
  • a strong understanding of child pedagogy and the ability to make adaptations to activities in order for children to be supported or challenged appropriately and make strong progress
  • the ability to swiftly identify misconceptions and support children, in the moment, to develop the knowledge or skills required
