What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, committed temporary Senior Teaching Assistant – Level 3 to cover maternity leave from September 2024 until March 2025, or the earlier return of the post holder for our fully inclusive, diverse and friendly school. This role would be in Reception in the first instance.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has good knowledge and experience of the Reception and Key Stage One Curriculum
  • Demonstrates a commitment to helping children achieve their very best
  • Relates well to children and has good behaviour management skills
  • Is able to work independently and confidently with small groups of children and cover first day teacher sickness absence
  • Has excellent literacy and numeracy skills

Candidates must be fully qualified and possess the relevant qualifications (i.e. NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications or experience).

Hunter’s Bar Infant School is situated two miles south-west of the centre of the city and is a popular and lively school with a very diverse pupil profile.
