What skills and experience we're looking for
A well-qualified, enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Art
- Graduate with Qualified Teacher Status
- Degree in the relevant subject
- Experience of teaching to GCSE and post 16 level
- Knowledge, understanding and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion informed by practical experience and application
- Experience of working effectively with colleagues in a school to instigate change
- Knowledge, understanding and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
- Able to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with students
- Recent, relevant classroom practice
- An interest in and understanding of how children learn
- Knowledge of a range of teaching strategies
- Possess good working knowledge of assessment for learning approaches and their classroom application
- Good ICT skills and ability to use ICT to enhance teaching
- Knowledge of how literacy can be built into the curriculum
- Evidence of commitment to own and colleagues’ professional learning
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Commitment to positive behaviour
- A clear track record of achieving examination success with students of all abilities and background
- Ability to focus on children’s learning in devising teaching schemes and in working with colleagues on their teaching
