What skills and experience we're looking for

A well-qualified, enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Art

  • Graduate with Qualified Teacher Status
  • Degree in the relevant subject
  • Experience of teaching to GCSE and post 16 level
  • Knowledge, understanding and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion informed by practical experience and application
  • Experience of working effectively with colleagues in a school to instigate change
  • Knowledge, understanding and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
  • Able to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with students
  • Recent, relevant classroom practice
  • An interest in and understanding of how children learn
  • Knowledge of a range of teaching strategies
  • Possess good working knowledge of assessment for learning approaches and their classroom application
  • Good ICT skills and ability to use ICT to enhance teaching
  • Knowledge of how literacy can be built into the curriculum
  • Evidence of commitment to own and colleagues’ professional learning
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Commitment to positive behaviour
  • A clear track record of achieving examination success with students of all abilities and background
  • Ability to focus on children’s learning in devising teaching schemes and in working with colleagues on their teaching
