We consistently achieve high academic success, whilst maintaining a commitment to educating the ‘whole child’ through the promotion of sport and the arts as part of a well-rounded curriculum.
We are part of Impact Multi Academy Trust, and we work closely within the Trust with our other four secondary schools and our three primary schools.
*Hours are annualised to average 36 per week and the salary is inclusive of unsocial hours involving evening and weekend working.
We are seeking to recruit a Theatre Director to be responsible for the running of our fabulous 488 seat Performance Hall and associated spaces (120 seat Studio, drama studios, etc). The venue has state of the art facilities and an extremely busy programme of events - both external hires and school events - throughout the year. We are looking for somebody with the appropriate skills and experience to ensure that we can continue to offer a first-class facility to the local community, the staff and pupils and the large number of external organisations who hire the Performance Hall.
Our busy programme includes dance shows, dance competitions, musicals, orchestras, cinema, choirs and amateur productions.
The successful candidate will have experience of Theatre Management as well as a broad knowledge of FOH, licensing, sound, staging and general stage management. Working hours will vary around an average of 36 hrs / week, although the majority of the work is likely to be evenings and weekends throughout the year. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the work of the Duty Managers, the Events Managers, the Technicians and Theatre Stewards and drawing up rotas to ensure all events are properly staffed. The job will also involve some physical lifting and working at heights.
The successful candidate will need to be a Personal Licence holder to fulfil licensing conditions (if not already a holder this can be arranged after appointment).

Langley Park School for Boys
Founded in 1901 as The Beckenham Technical Institute, before transitioning into Beckenham and Penge Grammar School and then being renamed again when it moved to its current site in Eden Park Road, Langley Park School for Boys has a rich history of educating local boys, and more recently in the Sixth Form Girls as well.
Situated in Beckenham in the north of Bromley, London’s largest borough, the school is a very popular and highly oversubscribed secondary comprehensive which retains many of the traditions of its Grammar School past. The school now has over 1700 students on role including 600+ in its co-educational Sixth Form and maintains its long-held belief in the importance of educating the ‘whole child’. Whilst academic outcomes continue to be well above national averages at all levels, and with GCSE progress scores also above average for boys every year, the school also retains its focus on wider aspects of education placing a great deal of importance on the Visual and Performing Arts, Sport and Outdoor Education. The school’s main sports are Rugby, Hockey, Cricket and Athletics in which it competes with weekly fixtures against other local schools throughout the year. The Performing Arts team regularly put on fantastic musical and theatrical performances in the purpose built 550-seater theatre built in to the school which also boasts three Dance studios, and recording studios.
The school is heavily over-subscribed with around 900 applications each year for the 220 places available in year 7, and around 800 applications for the 150 external places in the Sixth Form. The school was re-built under the BSF scheme with the new buildings opening in 2012 and providing exceptionally high-quality facilities across all subjects. The school has an active and highly successful PTA and a very supportive parent body who support the work that the school does.
We are extremely proud of the tradition and the success of Langley Park School for Boys and you can find out more about us by visiting our website at www.lpsb.org.uk
