What skills and experience we're looking for
This is a newly created leadership role within our Central Finance Team and presents an exciting opportunity to shape and develop a modern transactional finance function across a growing multi academy trust. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will lead a team responsible for procure-to-pay, income collection, cash management and treasury operations, driving efficiency, consistency and excellent customer service across the Trust. You will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operations of the finance team are efficient, follow best practice and are accurately reported. You will primarily oversee the transactional finance functions but this is a real opportunity to drive process improvements and improve efficiencies. We are looking for someone who can operate financial controls across the trust that are robust and applied consistently, suggesting and implementing improvements where appropriate to keep in line with sector best practice. We are looking for a proven team leader who can build on existing strengths to create a high performing, customer-focused transactional finance team. You will be passionate about developing colleagues, embedding best practice and delivering continuous improvement. You will hold a recognised professional accounting qualification (such as ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) and have significant experience leading finance operations within a complex organisation. You will need to be comfortable with delivering change at pace and engaging other team members in the process. You will also need to be able to engage stakeholders from around the organisation to ensure robust controls are followed.
