Transition Mentor job summary

We are delighted to be working with John Lyon's Charity on a project to support vulnerable pupils through their transition from primary to secondary school.

This unique role will involve working with our local primary schools to identify vulnerbale pupils and to work with them and their families over an extended period of time (for some this will be Year 5 to Year 9). You will work closely with pastoral leaders, our Grow and Thrive team, as well as colleagues in the primary schools to help children overcome their barriers to learning both inside and outside the school, and to develop into young people with a passion to make a positive contribution to society.

Saracens High School has a family ethos and is committed to supporting staff in this rewarding job, while recognising the stress it puts upon us. With free use of the school gym, the opportunity for colleagues to take family days, and access to a staff counsellor, we do all we can to look after our staff. We offer exceptional training and development opportunities and do all we can to support you in this role, and to achieve your aspirations, while you help the children to achieve theirs.

With strong ties to the wider Saracens organisation, we base all we do on the values Discipline, Hard Work, Honesty, and Humility. Our approach to education focuses on character development and making memories, as much as outstanding academic attainment. Our aim is to develop aspirational life-long learners, who will thrive in their chosen career path, embracing our values, and demonstrating a strong moral purpose and a desire to make a positive contribution to society and their local community.
