What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Travel & Tourism Industry Knowledge: Strong applied understanding of the travel and tourism sector, including destinations, customer service, sustainable tourism, tour operations, aviation, hospitality, and relevant legislation.
  • Passion for Teaching: Genuine enthusiasm for teaching travel and tourism subjects and inspiring learners’ interest in global travel, cultures, and industry careers.
  • Student Guidance and Support: Ability to mentor and support students from diverse backgrounds and abilities, promoting confidence, progression, and employability skills. • Collaboration and Teamwork: Willingness to work closely with colleagues to enhance the travel and tourism curriculum and contribute to programme development.
  • Adaptability and Innovation: Openness to innovative teaching approaches, digital learning tools, and keeping up to date with current industry trends and developments.
  • Organisational Skills: Effective organisation of lessons, assessments, resources, and learning activities, including trips or guest speakers where appropriate.
  • Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Ability to use real-world tourism scenarios to develop students’ analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
