Trust Accountant job summary
TRUST ACCOUNTANT
This is a rare opportunity for a finance professional to work in a strategic role in the education sector on a term time, part time basis.
The Keys Academy Trust is looking for a Trust Accountant to work as a business partner with a number of schools to prepare their annual budgets and monthly management accounts and to assist the wider central finance function. The Keys Academy Trust is a primary specialist Multi Academy Trust with 12 schools in the Wokingham and Bracknell areas. It is a limited company by guarantee and prepares accounts in accordance with FRS102, the Academies Accounts Direction, the Charities Act and the Companies Act.
The role will involve:
- Supporting the CFO in the provision of an effective and efficient finance service for the Keys Academy Trust.
- Producing monthly management accounts for Headteachers, Governors, the Trust leadership team and Trustees.
- Supporting financial planning through the preparation of three-year budgets and reforecasts and supporting schools in their strategic staff planning.
- Assisting the CFO in the co-ordination of the annual audit and the preparation of the annual financial statements.
The successful applicant should have:
- A professional accounting qualification - ACA, CIMA
- Knowledge of accounting and budgeting packages
- Strong IT skills including Excel and Office 365
The role is based in the Trust Central Team (at Earley St Peter's School) and will involve working across a number of schools, as well as with the Trust Central Team.
Starting date: As soon as possible
Hours: 25 hours per week (with the possibility of increasing to 30 hours per week), working pattern to be agreed, term time only
Salary: Grade 8 SCP 30–34. FTE £39,513 - £43,693 – subject to pay body review (Actual Annual Salary £22,774 - £25,184)
