What skills and experience we're looking for

An exciting position has arisen to join our dedicated team at The Golden Thread Alliance as a Trust Counsellor. The person appointed to this role will be part of our central team, working with children across the Trust to provide specialist support and advice.

We are looking for someone with experience working with children to support and develop their emotional wellbeing through play therapy, one to one counselling sessions and planned interventions as appropriate to the needs of the children. You will work alongside other Trust counsellors, our School Improvement Lead for SEND and others within our SEND teams to support our children to thrive throughout their time in primary school.

This role is a permanent position, 26 hours per week term time only. The salary is within the Kent Range 8 £28,598 FTE, actual pro rata salary £17,144.95, based on 26 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be qualified to deliver counselling sessions to children and experience doing so either within a school context or otherwise
  • Be BACP or UKPC registered
  • Enjoy working with others to form strong partnerships and practices
  • Have good organisational skills and the ability to manage your caseload
