Trust Lead for Computing and Digital Learning job summary
Passionate about computing education? Want to inspire pupils of all ages through STEM?
Committed to transforming lives through education?
Do you have deep expertise in computing education, digital learning curriculum design and
pedagogy, and a proven track record of securing strong outcomes for young people?
CAM Academy Trust is seeking a Trust Lead for Computing and Digital Learning to shape and
deliver our vision for digital excellence across our family of schools. This is a rare opportunity to
lead the development of our Trust-wide digital learning strategy, ensuring that technology
enhances teaching, learning and outcomes for every pupil.
We are looking for a highly credible practitioner and leader who combines subject expertise with
strategic thinking. You will champion high-quality computing education and digital learning,
support schools to develop innovative and evidence-informed digital pedagogy, and drive
improvement through collaboration, professional learning and curriculum excellence. You will
be knowledgeable, and able to advise and support decision-making around when ed-tech may
enhance learning and also when it may not.
A key priority for the role will be to rapidly, but sustainably, raise standards in computing across
our schools. You will work collaboratively, with computing leaders and teachers across our
schools to develop a thriving subject community. You will lead in a way that will secure
sustainable excellence. You will be particularly driven by improving outcomes for our most
vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.
As a key member of our wider school improvement team, you will also lead the development of
our approach to artificial intelligence, shaping both our AI strategy and the professional learning
that will equip staff to use AI confidently, responsibly and effectively.
At CAM, we are making an absolute commitment to placing STEM at the heart of our pupil
entitlement as part of a strong place-based offer, given our schools are in the regional orbit of
Cambridge. We are seeking someone who is excited by this ambition and ready to build the
local and regional partnerships, industry links and opportunities that will inspire young people
and prepare them for the future. You will play a leading role in ensuring our STEM offer is
innovative, relevant and cutting edge.
As a Trust we are committed to the concept of all-through education. Our primaries feed into
our secondaries. There is an exciting opportunity here to work collaboratively on an all-through
digital strategy. We are keen to hear from candidates who have some experience in both primary
and secondary, even if their experience is predominantly in one or the other.
The post-holder will teach. Teaching is at the heart of what we do and holding a teaching
commitment supports that important principle. There is flexibility around the teaching
commitment, which will not be full time, and this can be discussed and agreed with the
successful candidate.
If you are a credible, smart and forward-thinking leader who wants to make a system-wide
impact across a thriving and ambitious trust, we would love to hear from you.
Join us and help shape the future of computing, digital learning, AI and STEM for thousands
of young people.
