What skills and experience we're looking for
Knowledge & Experience
Extensive experience teaching mathematics at secondary phase across a range of key stages
A strong track record of raising attainment and improving student outcomes
Experience in leading and delivering professional development for teachers
Experience in curriculum development and data-driven improvement strategies
Sound knowledge of National Curriculum Maths
Sound knowledge of relevant examining body GCSE specifications and results analysis tools
Good understanding of a variety of teaching and learning approaches
Evidence of leadership in a school environment
Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate colleagues.
The commitment and a determination to ensuring high achievement for all pupils
A positive approach to change and continuous improvement

What the school offers its staff
Laidlaw Schools Trust was founded in 2008 with one secondary school in Newcastle.We now provide extraordinary education at eleven nursery, primary and secondary academies in Newcastle, Wearside and Durham, and are set to grow further.
As Trust Lead Practitioner for Mathematics, you will play a key role in raising the standards of teaching and learning in mathematics. You will work closely with the Director of Maths, Heads of Departments and the School Improvement Team to develop and implement strategies that improve student outcomes and support professional development within mathematics. This post will be predominately based in our Sunderland Secondary Academies, at Academy 360, with opportunities to work across other academies in the Trust.
This role requires a highly skilled and experienced educator who is passionate about mathematics education and is capable of influencing and contributing to the strategic development of the subject across the Trust. This is an exciting time to join our growing LST Maths team and make a difference to children’s lives.
