A New and Exciting Opportunity
Following a recent period of growth and expansion, our Academy Trust is delighted to introduce a new and exciting senior leadership role: Educational Welfare Officer (EWO) and Trust Safeguarding Lead.
As our Trust continues to expand, we are strengthening our central provision to ensure the highest standards of safeguarding and attendance across all nine of our primary schools. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape and lead safeguarding culture and attendance strategy at Trust level.
About the Role
This is a strategic and operational leadership position with overall responsibility for:
Leading and quality assuring safeguarding practice across the Trust
Ensuring full statutory compliance and a strong safeguarding culture
Providing professional supervision and support to school-based DSLs
Developing and implementing a Trust-wide attendance strategy
Reducing persistent absence and improving outcomes for vulnerable pupils
Working closely with Headteachers, Trustees and external agencies
You will act as the Trust’s senior safeguarding professional and play a critical role in protecting children and improving life chances across our communities.
About You
We are seeking a highly skilled safeguarding professional who:
Has significant experience as a Designated Safeguarding Lead
Has strong knowledge of statutory safeguarding guidance (including KCSIE)
Has experience leading attendance strategy and educational welfare processes
Is confident working across multiple schools and influencing senior leaders
Demonstrates resilience, integrity and excellent professional judgement
Is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable children
This role requires travel across our nine primary schools, so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
