Make a difference in your community – join our Board.
Redhill Academy Trust are seeking excellent individuals with new ideas and a fresh perspective to join our committed and friendly Board. It is important that the Trustee shares our commitment to outstanding education for all, through excellent, high achieving academies that will help transform lives and life chances.
Redhill Academy Trust is a thriving and ambitious community of schools providing a broad spectrum of education for children and young people across Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire. The Trust currently has 16 academies providing excellent education for over 11,000 children in nursery, infant, junior, secondary and post-16 settings, with plans to grow. We are also a regional leader in teacher training and high-quality professional development which we deliver through the DfE designated Redhill Teaching Hub.
Being a trustee is a hugely rewarding form of voluntary work.
Trustees make a real difference to our students, pupils and our local community by actively contributing to the success of our academies. As strategic leaders of the academy trust, it is vital that the Trust board is connected with, and engages, the communities and stakeholders it serves.
By joining the board of an educational organisation, you are directly contributing to the future success of thousands of children. In giving something back to our communities, Trustees gain valuable new skills, build on existing skills, receive free training and support through a variety of training opportunities and access to the National Governors Association resources.
If you’re passionate about education, then becoming a board member is a great opportunity to drive change in this sector – and we will provide you with support and guidance in your journey from our experienced trustees.
Time Commitment
The time commitment is 2-4 hours per month, attending meetings (typically 5 full board meetings each year), reading papers and preparing questions on matters arising from the reports. The Board & Sub Committee meetings are held at the Trust Central Offices in Calverton typically on a Wednesday at 6:00pm.
Commitment to safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.
Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.
