Working pattern

Part time: Trustees are expected to attend 6 Board meetings annually, each lasting 1.5 to 2 hours, typically held online on Thursday mornings between 8.00 and 10.00 am. In addition, Trustees will be expected to a join a Board subcommittee, who will meet 3 to 4 times per year. Trustees must also complete role-specific training and may be required to attend occasional additional meetings in exceptional circumstances, such as panel hearings, where they contribute an independent perspective.

What skills and experience we're looking for

The Heath Family is seeking to appoint a Trustee with a strong accountancy or financial background, with significant experience in financial management, audit, or senior-level corporate finance. The successful candidate will provide effective oversight of budgeting, financial planning, and risk management, ensuring the Trust’s resources are used efficiently and sustainably. We are looking for individuals with strong analytical ability, sound judgement, and the capacity to interpret complex financial information, ideally with experience of governance or strategic leadership within the commercial, public, or charitable sectors.

Established as a Multi Academy Trust in 2013, the Heath Family now comprises eight schools across the North West of England. Trustees act as charity trustees and company directors, providing strategic oversight, ensuring financial sustainability, and holding executive leaders to account. Candidates should demonstrate relevant expertise, sound judgement, and the ability to interpret complex information effectively.
