- Full time: Monday - Friday (paid 32.5h - the equivalent hours of a teacher): 8.30am- 12/12.30-3.45pm - Wednesdays to attend Staff Development Meeting 3.30pm-5pm. The role will require the candidate to work on Teaching Training Days as Teachers do.

What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a strong candidate who is confident in covering classes in Key Stage 2. The candidate will be based in Y6 in the first instance supporting teaching and learning across our three classes of 20 pupils and covering classes when the teacher has PPA or other release.
The candidate MUST have had this experience before and know the KS2 Curriculum. This role would suit ECTs who have not been successful in securing their first post.
Duties:
- Assist the class teacher delivering engaging lessons
- Provide some one-to-one support for children with special educational needs
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Support pupils with their social, emotional, and personal care needs
- Supervise and engage children during playtime and other activities
- Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals
- Covering the class during meetings and PPA time.
Requirements:
- Degree/Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Strong communication skills to interact with students, staff, and parents
- Knowledge of lesson planning, including core subjects
- Passion for educating and supporting children in their learning journey

Middleton St Mary's is a large Voluntary Controlled Church of England Primary School based in South Leeds. We serve the Middleton Community with close links to St Mary's Church and Leeds Diocese.
