What the school offers its staff

Hillingdon Primary School was inspected by Ofsted in March this year and we were judged to be an ‘outstanding’ academy where ‘Pupils flourish … They benefit from highly positive experiences and achieve exceptionally well’. We have wonderful pupils in our school and Ofsted commented that their behaviour is ‘exemplary’.

We are determined to maintain our outstanding status for our pupils, who deserve an excellent education, however we know that teaching is a demanding job, therefore we are keen to provide an environment in which teachers enjoy working and workload is considered. Teachers work within a supportive team overseen by a Year Group Leader. In addition:

  • All subject planning is in place on a Google drive for teachers to adapt to the needs of their pupils;
  • Specialist subject teachers cover PPA;
  • There is a pool of class learning support assistants; and
  • Administrative support to manage data collection and input.

We are a large primary school with an established leadership structure and we take pride in supporting our staff to develop their subject expertise, leadership and management skills, be it through our internal succession planning or strong external partnerships. Ofsted commented that ‘Staff are exceptionally positive about working at Hillingdon Primary School. They are proud to work in a school that cares for them as individuals. They appreciate the many professional development opportunities on offer’.

The school is proud to be part of the Elliot Foundation, a multi-academy trust specialising in primary education. We work with other academies and like-minded professionals for the benefit of our students. Elliot Foundation teachers have access to a wide range of comprehensive learning and development opportunities. We are also a local partner for Teach West London teaching school hub, leading on Primary ITT and ECT training and development in the London Borough of Hillingdon, and we are thrilled at the additional opportunities this presents for our staff to grow and progress. We have a successful track record of enabling career progression: many of our teachers eventually move on to middle and senior leadership positions due to the opportunities we provide to support a teacher’s development and career.

Learning and achievement drives everything that we do at Hillingdon Primary School. At our school, we work in partnership with our parents, carers and staff to ensure that pupils are succeeding academically and personally, whilst promoting an atmosphere of respect and care for everyone, so children can recognise their own value and celebrate one another's successes. We enable each child to discover the joy of learning, to help them to fulfil every aspect of their potential and to encourage their growth into effective citizens, ready to play their part positively in their community and modern Britain.
