Salary: Leadership Scale L8-12

St. Wulstan’s Catholic Primary School, Wolstanton serves the parish of St Wulstan’s and St John the Evangelist, Chesterton. Our faith is very important to us and it provides the foundation for the social, emotional and educational development of our pupils. We are a large, two-form entry primary school at the heart of the local community. Everyone at St Wulstan’s is dedicated to providing the best possible education and care to every single young person we serve. We aim to give all our children an exciting and challenging faith-based curriculum so that they discover and develop their God given abilities and skills during their time at St Wulstan’s. This is embedded in our mission, “We come to school to love, learn and share in the light of Jesus.”

We are looking for an exceptional and inspiring leader to join our leadership team as Vice Principal of St Wulstan’s Catholic Primary School, who is able to build on our existing successes and offer quality educational provision to our children. The post will include a significant amount of dedicated leadership time to support the Principal in the strategic development of the school.

We warmly welcome and strongly encourage visits to our school from prospective candidates, in order to appreciate our wonderful community, strengths, and mission in action.

Our Trust

At the heart of our Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is a mission that shapes everything we do. Inspired by the witness of St Gabriel the Archangel, we are Forming Christ-centred pilgrims of hope with kind hearts, questioning minds, a thirst for knowledge, and a hunger for justice. These characteristics are lived out in our schools, they shape our culture, leadership, teaching, and our community.

St Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is a family of 63 schools working together to provide high-quality, faith-filled education to every child we serve

This is a wonderful opportunity for a leader who shares our faith, values, and passion for nurturing every child’s potential through high-quality Catholic education.

We are looking for someone who:

Is a practising and committed Catholic with a secure understanding of the distinctive nature and purpose of Catholic education

Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child.

Has experience of leadership and teaching in a successful and inclusive school environment.

Has the ambition and integrity of an excellent leader who is motivated to provide equity for all children.

Can articulate and share a clear vision for primary education that reflects the mission and values of St Wulstan’s Catholic Primary School.

Understands what constitutes high-quality educational provision and has strategies to raise standards and ensure the success of all pupils

Is well-organised and adaptable, able to balance competing priorities and respond positively to the changing needs of a busy school environment.

Has excellent communication skills to build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and the wider community

We can offer you:

Wonderful pupils who are enthusiastic, curious, and proud of their school — children who love to learn, care for one another, and are at the heart of everything we do.

A happy, caring, and safe environment where every child is known, valued, and supported to achieve their full potential.

A strong sense of community and partnership, where staff, governors, parents, and parish work together to nurture each child’s spiritual, emotional, and academic growth.

An inclusive, diverse, and vibrant culture that celebrates difference, promotes understanding, and encourages all to live out the Gospel values of love, respect, and service.

Central services for Finance, HR, Estates, and IT—enabling school leaders to focus on what matters most: teaching, learning, and pastoral care.

The opportunity to work closely with an experienced Catholic Senior Leader and a dedicated team of school improvement advisors.

Support for Professional Development linking with schools and leaders across the 63 schools within the CMAT.

A committed, hardworking, and supportive team, both within the school and across the wider St Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Multi-Academy Trust family, united by faith and purpose.
