EBN Academy is seeking a committed, resilient, and enthusiastic Vocational Teacher in Health & Social Care to join our dedicated team within our Alternative Provision setting. The Role
As a Vocational Teacher of Health & Social Care, you will:
- Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons to KS3 and KS4 students
- Plan, assess, and adapt learning to meet a wide range of needs
- Create a positive, trauma-informed classroom environment
- Support students to develop confidence, resilience, and employability skills
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including pastoral staff and external agencies
Teaching & Learning Responsibility (TLR): Careers Lead
In addition to your teaching role, you will lead on Careers across the school. This is a key leadership position focused on preparing students for their next steps.
You will:
- Develop and implement a whole-school careers strategy aligned with the Gatsby Benchmarks
- Build strong partnerships with employers, FE providers, and training organisations
- Organise careers events, work experience, and employer encounters
- Provide guidance on post-16 pathways including education, employment, and training
- Track and evaluate student destinations to improve outcomes
- Support colleagues in embedding careers education across the curriculum

- A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) or relevant vocational experience
- Experience or strong interest in alternative provision and/or SEMH needs
- A creative, adaptable, and compassionate teaching approach
- Strong behaviour management and a trauma-informed mindset
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student success
