Welfare Officer job summary
We are seeking to appoint a Welfare Officer to join our friendly team. You should be flexible and have excellent organisational and communication skills.
You will work under the direction of the Headteacher/School Business Manager and will be responsible for all matters relating to pupils’ welfare as well as taking the lead on the provision of First Aid across the school.
You will work 16.5 hours per week, 39 weeks pa (term time only), 9.00 am-2.30 pm Monday-Wednesday.
The successful applicant will be required to:
- Have a first aid qualification and experience of applying first aid in the workplace, ideally in a school setting.
- Have a good level of computer literacy.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Have a positive “can-do” attitude and a cheerful disposition.
- Be proactive and able to work under own initiative.
- Be a team player who is able to demonstrate a willingness and ability to accept responsibility.
- Be able to build positive relationships with staff, parents, pupils, contractors and other visitors.
- Have a flexible approach and be able to work with conflicting priorities.
- Be willing to learn and develop new skills.

Previous experience of working in a school and using school management information systems is desirable but not essential.
