About Us:
North Brent School, part of the Wembley Multi-Academy Trust, is a vibrant institution dedicated to providing high-quality education and fostering a supportive community for our students and staff. We are seeking a highly organised Welfare Officer.
Role Overview:
The Welfare Officer with Administrative Duties of the Trust ensures the smooth operation of welfare, attendance, and administrative process to support the overall functioning of the school. The successful candidate will provide high-quality welfare and administrative support, and work with families and staff to promote attendance and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Pastoral Support:
- Support pupils during times of transition, crisis or reintegration after absence, dealing with day to day queries.
- Liaise with staff, parents, and external services to ensure pupils’ wellbeing needs are met.
- Promote a positive and inclusive school environment that supports pupils.
- Act as first point of contact for pupils, including providing general welfare support for pupils.
Attendance & Welfare:
- Managing pupil absence including liaising with Heads of Year, parents and outside agencies.
- Prepare reports and documentation for meeting including external agencies.
- Organise and minute meetings involving pupils, parents/carers, or external agencies.
- Preparing weekly reports on students’ lateness and contacting parents regarding this.
Administrative Duties:
- Provide effective and efficient general office support.
- To update and maintain students records in SIMS.
- To collect and update information on all new students starting in Year 7.
- Ensure that attendance records are up-to-date including all interventions and meetings.
- Generating the appropriate letters home.
- Keeping all pupil records including health records up to date, maintaining accident/incident reports, and updating associated records.
- Support with data entry, and administration related to safeguarding, wellbeing, or referrals.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times and comply with data protection regulations.
Additional Duties:
- Provide occasional cover on the school reception and supporting the school with general administrative tasks such as answering the phones, responding to emails, photocopying and filing.
- Invigilate exams.
- Provide lunchtime supervision for students.
- Support pastoral or whole school events as required.
- Provide administrative support for Parents’ Evenings, Open Days, and other school events.
