The position

We are seeking to appoint an energetic, enthusiastic and inspirational Attendance Mentor who will work to assist pupils to overcome the barriers they and their families face with regard to attending school.

They will work within the school and community to create a bridge between home and school for those students to attend. A major part of the post will be to build positive relationships with parents and carers. The attendance mentor will mentor students to explore alternative ways to increase access to education for them.

It is essential that the person for this role must have a full clean driver’s license as they will be responsible for driving to students’ homes in vehicles provided by the Trust. They will be contracted to work from 7:30am - 12:30pm and full training and uniform will be provided.

The school

Sir William Ramsay school (SWR) is a co-educational secondary school with a pupil admission number of 195 for years 7 - 13. SWR has a SEN Department that caters for a variety of special needs. They have two additionally resourced provisions (ARP’s): one for Hearing Impairment and one for Physical Disabilities. The school joined Insignis Academy Trust in March 2024. SWR are developing a culture that is routed in the values of being Respectful, Ambitious, Reliable and Resilient. These are the expected characteristics of an SWR student and form the foundations for future success.
