Qualification and experience 

 Candidates should have: 

1. Reading skills for following instructions

2. Experience of working with children

 Personal qualities 

 Candidates should: 

1.Patience

2.  The ability to stay calm

3. Good communication skills

4.The ability to work as part of a team

5.Punctual, reliable and trustworthy

6.Able to manage time effectively

 Skills  

 Candidates should be able to: 

1. Be effective in supervising pupils both inside and outside

2.Help pupils with a variety of tasks, such as cutting up their food and changing clothes

3.Clean up spillages and sickness

4.Engage and lead children in games to enhance the lunchtime experience and build relationships between children

5.Assist in managing behaviour throughout the lunchtime in a calm and fair manner

6.Ensure pupils keep out of areas that are out of bounds, and don't leave the school premises

Professional knowledge and understanding  

 Candidates should: 

1.Have an awareness of Health & Safety and First Aid

2.Demonstrate a full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice & awareness of relevant legislation

 Safeguarding  

 Candidates should have: 

1.An understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
