Wrap Around Care Assistant job summary

Durrington All Saints Church of England Infant School is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Wraparound Care Assistant to support the Wraparound Care Leader in managing the day-to-day operations of our after-school provision.

Working Hours: Part time (12 hours 30 minutes per week, 3.00pm until 5.30pm, Monday-Friday, 38 weeks per year, no Teacher Training days). Contract: Fixed Term (until 17th July 2026). Required: April 2026

We are a welcoming Infant school, educating children between the ages of 4 and 7 years. Situated in the heart of the charming village of Durrington, Wiltshire, we have strong relationships with the Junior School, All Saints Church and the local community. We are incredibly proud of our inclusive and adaptable approach to teaching and learning, which helps all our children to flourish and succeed. Within our Christian framework, we aim to foster the growth of our children both academically and spiritually; developing responsible, caring and happy individuals. We joined Acorn education Trust in May 2022, which provides exciting opportunities to improve local education, collaborate with schools and draw on collective experience. In May 2024, we were proud to, once again, be confirmed as a ‘good’ school by Ofsted.

The successful candidate will ensure a safe, caring and stimulating environment for all children who attend. This role involves assisting with the planning and organising of a range of activities suitable for primary-aged children, taking into account their interests and developmental needs.


We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion for delivering high quality and exciting opportunities for children;
  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils, staff and parents;
  • Is self-motivated, energetic and proactive and will support in ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality education and care for all of our children;
  • Has experience of working with children (4 – 7 years old) in a play / educational setting;
  • Has Food handling experience and/or a Food handling certificate (or willingness to complete one);
  • Is a strong team player;
  • Has a positive and flexible attitude;
  • Can demonstrate a warm and caring approach with children;
  • Is First Aid trained (advantageous).
