Greystoke Primary School are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and highly motivated Wrap Around Care Assistant to support the Wrap Around Manager in the provision of high quality activities for pupils at the start of the normal school day.

The successful candidate will be trustworthy, enthusiastic, full of energy, enjoy working with children and be a real team player, experience is desirable but not essential.

Main Duties and responsibilities:

  • Supervise, support and assist pupils undertaking activities, ensuring that all have equal opportunity to develop their individual and team skills.
  • To maintain a duty of care for all children attending the WAC provision. This may include carrying out intimate care for children.
  • Comfort and supervise pupils who are ill or have had an accident, administering to their needs, as appropriate and referring to the nominated teacher and/or First Aider ensuring that accidents are recorded appropriately.
  • Being aware of confidentiality issues linked to home/pupil/teacher/school work and to keep confidences as appropriate.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Ideal candidates will have experience of working with children and be committed to providing our pupils with a safe and enjoyable childcare environment.
  • Experience of working with children in a play, childcare or out of school setting is essential.
  • Level 2 NVQ or CACHE or working towards is desirable.
  • Ability to create and inspirational and stimulating child centred play and care environment.
  • Excellent communication (written & oral) and interaction skills with child, parents and colleagues

Greystoke Primary School is a Good-rated school based in Narborough: a large village and civil parish in the Blaby district of Leicestershire, located around 6 miles south-west of Leicester. Our school enjoys the quiet of a small suburb whilst being well -connected to Leicester City with Fosse Park being a short car ride away.
The school has an extensive range of facilities and include: extensive grounds with a large woodland area, exciting play areas which include sports equipment and play spaces suitable for different ages. The school also boasts an on-site swimming pool that children in EYFS through to Year 4 swim every week.
Greystoke runs a popular nursery provision which caters for three year olds as well as a daily Wrap around Care provision before and after school. All children are encouraged to reach their full potential and play an active part in the school.
