Wraparound care club assistant job summary

Location: Wood End Infant and Preschool

Hours: 4 days a week, 3:00pm-4:00pm, extended hours as and when required

Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and engage children in safe, fun, and age-appropriate activities
  • Support children's social and emotional development through play and conversation
  • Ensure the environment is welcoming, inclusive, and well-organised
  • Work collaboratively with other staff to maintain high standards of care
  • Be flexible to extend hours if demand increases
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working with children (in a school, nursery, or similar setting)
  • A warm, approachable manner and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Childcare) are desirable
Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment:
  • This role is classified as regulated activity and is subject to an enhanced DBS check
  • All pre-appointment checks will be carried out in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2025 including identity verification, right to work checks, and references
  • Applicants must disclose any relevant information that may affect their suitability to work with children
  • We retain recruitment documentation in line with current data protection and safeguarding guidance
