Buckden CE Primary Academy is looking for a committed professional to join our team and help every child flourish. If you want to be part of a school that values Agape (unconditional love), Courage and Thankfulness and is focused on high-quality curriculum delivery and staff development, we would love to hear from you.

About Buckden CE Primary Academy
  • A warm, semi-rural maintained primary serving a caring community.
  • We embrace a Christian ethos: Agape, Courage and Thankfulness guide how we teach, lead and support one another.
  • Context: 24.8% of pupils have additional needs (SEND) with 5.2% on EHCPs; 8% are eligible for free school meals. Our current absence rate is 4.4%.
  • We follow the OFSTED (2025) inspection framework and are committed to high standards of safeguarding, inclusion, curriculum quality and pupils’ personal development.
  • School improvement priorities include strengthening curriculum expertise across all subjects (including EYFS), building effective leadership systems, nurturing positive relationships and embedding a meaningful approach to staff and pupil well-being.
About the role

This post is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a school on a clear improvement journey. You will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching that brings our curriculum to life for every child you teach.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop consistent, effective practice across subjects and key stages (EYFS expertise welcomed).
  • Support inclusive practice so all pupils, including those with SEND, make strong progress.
  • Contribute to positive relationships across the school and model our Christian values in day-to-day practice.
  • Play an active part in staff development activities and whole-school improvement initiatives.

(Full responsibilities and accountabilities are set out in the job description.)

About you — the difference you will make

We are looking for someone who:

  • Believes every child can succeed and demonstrates compassion and high expectations in equal measure.
  • Has strong pedagogical knowledge and a commitment to curriculum excellence, with particular willingness to develop skills in areas identified by our improvement priorities.
  • Is collaborative, reflective and keen to engage in professional development and leadership opportunities.
  • Is skilled at meeting the needs of diverse learners, including children with SEND, and can create inclusive, nurturing classroom environments.
  • Embraces our Christian values and contributes positively to school culture and community life.

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and faiths who share our values and commitment to high-quality education.
