- Understanding of how to use success criteria to improve learning
- Understanding of how to use marking effectively to move learning on
- Experience of planning and teaching effective sequences of learning (especially in maths and English)
- An understanding of what constitutes high standards in learning and teaching
- Understanding of/ability to create an excellent learning environment
- Ability to help children achieve and maintain high standards
- Effective organisational skills
- Knowledge and understanding of how to use assessment as a key tool for learning
- Ability to work well with parents and carers
- Understanding of Child Protection
- Ability to direct learning support assistants to enhance learning and accelerate progress
- Knowledge of how to use Afl as a tool for learning
